EASTCONN’s LEAP Alternative School is a professional learning community that offers a personalized, competency-based program of studies designed to meet the unique needs and diverse learning styles of our non-traditional students who are over-aged and under-credited.

LEAP’s educators design deeper learning experiences that target the essential skills and competencies our students need to be successful in the workplace and in life. LEAP learners are challenged to apply their knowledge and skills to the real-world. All LEAP learners participate in experiences such as work-readiness internships, field research, and service projects in the community that reinforces learning in the classroom.

LEAP empowers its learners to defy expectations and to be agents of change by owning their learning, believing in themselves and their potential, persevering over challenges, and developing the mindset that they can accomplish anything through hard work, resilience, and self-confidence.

LEAP graduates earn an EASTCONN diploma, which serves as evidence of their readiness for college and career success.
